  • First, consider the idea of "Infinite Survival" . . . .

  • Then, consider the prospect of a technology to invent "non-ageing humans" . . . .

  • This is a merger of science and philosophy in a unified system of thought and the main pursuits of FIS and the subjects of this Internet site.

  • Briefly summarized, the single, most fundamental purpose of life is "Survival". This is an obvious Truth and an existential axiom. It applies to every living being and is operative in the immediate present out to the proximate and more distant future. By extrapolation, the ultimate goal would have to be "Infinite Survival". This would constitute an unending purpose that is inherent to human nature (a perennial philosophy); and the idea corresponds to the core aspiration of the religious and spiritual philosophies, their purpose being to achieve "immortality". However, within a scientific framework, it takes on a new configuration that is better suited to our times and prospects. In conjunction with the philosophical idea of Infinite Survival, there is the emerging science of Life-Extension, the ultimate thrust of which is the development of a technology to invent non-ageing humans. In practical terms, that means a technology to maintain biological vitality at the level which a person had at 20 ± 5 (i.e., from 15 to 25 years of age). Such a state of biological vitality would enable, potentially, an indefinite life-expectancy with most diseases prevented or easily cured and death rendered to accident or volition. Significant life-extension can be gained already by current practices. Incremental breakthroughs will be made as the years progress, with the ultimate reversal and control of ageing being a function of organizing a large amount of resources that are coordinated and applied properly. This pursuit presents great potentials and great responsibilities with broad implications in Psychology, Sociology, and Ecology. For these reasons, Life-Extension Science should be pursued within the framework of the philosophy of Infinite Survival as a goal.

  • Although the pursuit benefits every individual, in particular, and humanity, in general, only a small percentage of people seem to be able to identify with it, at this time. However, only a small percentage of people will be required to bring the technology into realization.

  • This site is directed to those who have an interest in these and related matters. If so, you are invited to become informed and, then, to proceed into participation at the appropriate level.
